PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

Horizontal remediation wells (HRWs) are an important tool in a remediation professional’s technology tool box.  HRWs are installed beneath buildings from outdoor locations to avoid business interruptions caused using conventional vertical well systems.  HRWs are installed beneath busy streets and intersections at lengths up to 2,000 feet where conventional vertical well systems would cause unacceptable lane closures and traffic delays.  HRWs are installed remotely and safely beneath high hazard locations such as petroleum tank farms and airport runways avoiding placing workers in harm’s way and interrupting critical infrastructure.  Due to longer screen lengths, HRWs typically have significantly greater radius of influence and flow rates than vertical remediation wells, resulting in significantly shorter clean-up times and system life-cycle costs.

The presentation will consist of three parts: the nuts and bolts of directional drilling; some of the applications and advantage of HRW’s; and, then some case studies.

SPEAKERS

Mike Sequino and Kathy Sequino, Directional Technologies, Inc.
