EPOC was formed in 1996 to represent the interests of Connecticut's Licensed Environmental Professionals (LEPs) by providing information, training and updates regarding the LEP program in Connecticut. EPOC welcomes the participation of all members in our activities and recognizes the strength of drawing on a membership of diverse careers, interests and backgrounds.
Membership is available at a professional level for CT LEPs and a separate associate membership is available to anyone interested in the organization's activities. In addition, special rates are available for students and government employees. Membership benefits include substantial discounts to all EPOC programs, Email notifications of current news and program announcements, and "members-only" content on our web site.

Activities of EPOC include:
- providing members with courses in preparation for the LEP examination and for continuing education credits

maintaining liaisons with the State Board of Examiners and the Connecticut DEEP to keep apprised of their activities, including development and implementation of regulations regarding licensing

providing comment/testimony in the interest of LEPs

providing training and support to those on-track to becoming Licensed Environmental Professionals (LEPs) to ensure that the LEP program maintains an active roster of qualified professionals. This is accomplished through our Young Environmental Professionals (YEP) group.

assisting in revising/updating guidance documents as practice experience warrants

serving as a clearinghouse for tools and information useful to LEPs, such as guidance documents, standards, technical protocols, research articles, etc., and,

keeping members apprised of any changes or clarifications to LEPs' responsibilities.
