Feel free to come and listen or participate and ask questions.

Moderator:

Dr. Binkhorst has been a Senior Hydrogeologist and Project Manager at ALTA Environmental Corporation for the past 19 years, responsible for providing technical oversight and direction on a wide array of projects. With over 30 years of experience, Dr. Binkhorst has a comprehensive knowledge of hydrogeologic principles, contaminant fate and transport mechanisms, and assessment and remediation techniques and strategies. Dr. Binkhorst has been a Licensed Environmental Professional in the State of Connecticut since 2009.

Prior to joining ALTA, Dr. Binkhorst conducted research for both his Masters and Doctorate degrees at the University of Connecticut. His doctoral research evaluated methods to delineate and quantify the weathering of entrapped residual non-aqueous phase gasoline in the subsurface. Dr. Binkhorst’s Masters research studied factors affecting hydraulic conductivity values determined from slug tests conducted in typical groundwater monitoring wells with draining filter packs. Dr. Binkhorst is presently an Adjunct Professor for the Center for Integrative Geosciences at the University of Connecticut where he teaches an upper-level undergraduate class on completing environmental site assessments. Dr. Binkhorst also serves as a Senior Technical Advisor to Pure Earth in New York, assisting in environmental assessments and remediation globally on their behalf, including mitigation of lead exposure to residents surrounding a former lead mine in Kabwe, Zambia.

We hope to see you there!

Regards,

The YEP Education Committee
