The CT State Board of Examiners of Environmental Professionals has approved this course for 4.0 hours of continuing education credits (CTLEP-346).  This course has also been approved in NY for 4 PDH(s) for Professional Engineering (PS004861). The MA LSP Board will be reviewing this course for 4.0 of technical credits at their 10/31/13 meeting.

Seminar Description:

This course is designed to introduce attendees to a method for calculating LNAPL Mass, Mobility and Recoverability (MMR) at LNAPL release sites.  This course will appeal to those seeking a straight-forward and mathematically rigorous approach to quantifying total and potentially recoverable LNAPL mass, and to assess the mobility of potentially recoverable LNAPL.  LNAPL “Specific Mass” will be introduced, and methods to calculate total and recoverable Specific Mass will be illustrated. Three case histories will be presented where the MMR concepts were applied to large LNAPL release sites.

Instructor:

Stephen Boynton, Subsurface Environmental Solutions, LLC.

Stephen Boynton is a Massachusetts Registered Professional Engineer and Licensed Site Professional with 28 years of professional experience in environmental and geotechnical consulting. In 2006, Mr. Boynton founded Subsurface Environmental Solutions, LLC.
Beginning in 2003, Mr. Boynton led efforts to reform regulations and practice standards related to assessment and remediation of properties contaminated by Light Non-Aqueous Phase Liquid (LNAPL). As chair of the MA LSP Association’s Technical Practices LNAPL Subcommittee, Mr. Boynton oversaw the writing of two White Papers related to LNAPL. Mr. Boynton was a key participant in the MassDEP LNAPL workgroup.
